This plant grows in salt marshes, and can be found at Langness.

Its Manx name is "lus yn 'Eaill Vaayl", meaning “Plant of the feast of Saint Michael”. Many other members of the same family are known as “Michaelmas Daisies” because they flower near to the feast of Saint Michael on the 29th of September.
