Also known as Lady's Thumb, this plant is common throughout the island and flowers later in the year than many other wildflowers.

This plant is edible, but rather bland. It has also been used in herbal medicine and to make a yellow dye.

The Manx name for this plant is "Glioonagh yiarg", which means "Red knotgrass".
